Haiku by Mary Bone

Low water crossing
Animals gather to drink
In the late evening

Sand through the hourglass
Marking time swiftly ending
As the sun goes down

A snake in the grass
Searching for its morning food
Nature’s habitat

Peaceful surroundings
Imagining quietness
Nature’s beckoning
