Tornadic Activity by Ryan Quinn Flanagan

Now they
are just inventing words
as they go along.

Apparently we are under a “heat dome”
like some short order salamander
from hell.

isn’t even a thing,
but the meteorologists
were told it polled well
and have run with it.

Back in the day
it was either a goddamn tornado
or it wasn’t.

When your house blew away
it was a tornado.

Most the city leveled
and a state of emergency

These new ones
are like watching a single tea bag
try to steep itself.

Without cup
or water
or purpose.
