Moral Revision by Gary Glauber

I walk ‘til thoughts begin to fade,
leaving nothing but guitar solos
& sounds of pelting rain.

Back on the shelf now,
another boy in the bubble
rolling over critical miles.

Half chances keep rolling,
daring to prove odds matter
more than unlucky ends.

Earlier we danced
to tempt fate, to rouse
a million sleeping memories.

Now it’s too late to forget
marching orders that send me
far away, forever waiting,

believing this unlikely fiction’s
coincidence & happenstance:
a surprise twist ending.
