What was it I touched
when my hands moved
across your flesh?

You said it was your heart
at the time
as we created such heat,
but that couldn’t
have been true
because of this chill
now between us.

Scott Thomas Outlar hosts the site 17Numa.com where links to his published poetry, fiction, essays, interviews, reviews, live events, and books can be found.
