Never Mind That Now by James Diaz

I am only passing along what works
how the body misses its moment
you open onto this
by accident
that love is never who
but how
never why
but yes
I know this now
it came to me in darkness
that these brutal days were a gift
I can not tell you
where to put yours
only that you must
find the place
bear the weight
all you got
I know what they took
how bad it was
never mind that now
you’re needed
by someone out there in the wilderness
and that is enough.
