Pennies on the Dollar by Ryan Quinn Flanagan

Don’t just sit there
and grimace,
there are high pressure
sales tactics
to avoid

that look like flora
if they are smart

hunters with their rifles
and rifles with their triggers
and triggers
with their fingers

what a way to go

the travel agent
does not get a commission
if your destination is
the afterlife

this is decorative scarring
this is pennies on the dollar
this is Joyce in Paris
and Paris in

making a complete
city of itself

bright lights
like fist-bumping
EDM epileptics
into seizure

honey traps
and tax havens

nail clippers in absentia

an island in the middle
of your kitchen
where all the local inhabitants
are knives.
