Fjord by Ryan Quinn Flanagan

Fjord

Bubbling Nordic sounds of the earth
your jagged rock sparseness is hardly forgiving
hills to traverse at mountain goat pace
a thinning of air to tax the lungs

and the way the sky settles below you
can be unsettling to some
long dormant craters with lips
no man has ever kissed

the waters in the distance
receding back to ice

our final
ecstasy.
