Haiku and Senryu by Ann Christine Tabaka

Haiku by Alessandra Salisbury

A summer meadow
stain glass windows catch the sun
on dragonfly wings

abandoned seashore
evening tide looks back to see
footprints in the sand

celestial event
magic lights up the night sky
meteor shower

lazy summer day
bare feet giggle with delight
on cool moist grass

windy afternoon
little green flags wave from trees
against the forces

early morning fog
blinks and greets another day
with half sleepy eyes

rainy afternoon
the whole world reflected in
a rippled puddle

an evening in June
marshmallows toast on wood sticks
a roaring campfire

carefree summer days
the time passes slowly at
the old fishing hole

cruel reality
the taste your sweet kisses
in forgotten dreams

a chocolate skinned queen
sapphire and gold gems adorns
ruler of the sands
