Survive Your Own Holocaust

by John Garmon

Under sudden volcanoes
Hiding from tornadoes
I felt an earthquake shaking
Approaching a curve
In a road lost in a desert
In a valley below mountains
My eyes gleamed gratefully
I saw a profile in the clouds
A very ancient Moses
And many of his sidekicks
Holding their proud noses
Prophesying pain to come
Loss of many kingdoms
Each a living human
Burning cities
Exasperated pities
Many future shadows
Cast across the land
I heard voices then
Telling me nothing
Just babbling
Incoherently
