Free at Last by Autumn Eliza
Free at last, I go out to wander
Aimlessly through the meadows,
Shrugging off that nagging feeling
Of being watched by my college-windows.
Far away from the campus,
I saunter along the river bank,
Amusedly seeing in the water
The trees uniting like lovers,
And the fish playing hide and seek
Among the meditative reeds.
I throw myself on the bank,
Basking in a strange happiness,
Trembling like a blade of grass,
Or a rubber-band released from stress.
Suddenly I feel soft like wax
Near the flame of a candle,
And relax further like a thawing icicle,
Ready to become more soluble!!
