Wonderment Unfolds

by Neil Chatterton

Rain drops
Knocking
Waiting for their invitation
To be accepted
By me.

Contemplating
Open my window
Feel
Refreshed
Reborn
Or just
Wet.
A melacholy lesson
Perhaps.

Mesmerized
I watch their paths
Criss-cross
Gathering speed
As they
Race towards
Nirvana.

Each drop
Lingers for just a moment
One last look back
As it disappears
From view.

Is there another window below
Where my soul-mate
Waits,
Contemplating and
Reflecting.

Too dreaming
That the sun returns
Yearning
With an unchecked urgency
To feel again
To touch again
To love again.

For you again.
