Morning on Daniels Street

by Willow Rose

Morning on Daniels Street
Dawn found us still awake,
Me, still in the throes of passion!
No Great Purpose in my life,
until I felt the purpose of us…
the unity and ecstasy.
Sitting naked in your hallway that day
a stray nail from the carpet
pierced my bare skin
and I felt the meaning of life pouring in–
Full of you, full of life…
It was joy, joy, joy!
Watching you leave for work I smiled-
what did I care about anything
with the taste of you,
scent of you,
still on my skin.
