Voyage by Autumn Eliza

Everything is quiet,
Even my heart.
Everything outside
Is dissolved in darkness,
And the dim yellow light in my room
Is coagulated like cheese.

All complexes have now ended,
All the frightening questions
Have become easy and simple,
Eager to provide their own answers!

Everything around me
Has become so gentle!
Even the tough grill of the window
Seems to have become so elastic
That it would let the sky in!
Perhaps other objects also
Would start to open out of their forms
Like buds becoming flowers!….

Lo! It so happens!!
My bed becomes a boat,
The quilt its sail,
The surrounding darkness becomes an ocean,
And taking leave of the island
Of my own being,
I embark upon a voyage……

  1. I wish to show some appreciation to the writer.
An interesting dialogue is price comment. Certainly there are lots of more pleasurable moments up front for those who looked over your site.
I simply wanted to jot down a brief note to appreciate you for the wonderful suggestions you are writing at this site.

  2. I just love the fantasy and imagery, Autumn Eliza! I feel as if I am also in a sort of “lucid dream” as your descriptions are so very tactile. I can just feel “the tough grill of the window” as I too have had windows like that; I can remember that scratchy, grating sound as I ran my nails down it and the way it even smelled all musty and dusty. Then you have it suddenly become “so elastic” and I can just go wherever you want to take me! The yellow light and the metaphor of coagulated cheese is just so fresh; I think I will keep this poem next to me when I have read a Stephen King story and need a pleasant dream to carry me away. Excellent! ~~~~~~willow~~~~~~~~~~~
