Lonely Rose~ by Dawn Mclaughlin

Standing in a chill of a day
alone a rose in her hand
frozen snow upon the ground
her steps are slow in her pace

Black and white her frame of mind
freezing fingers the stem she holds
a fading color pale and grey
lonely this rose she stands so cold

Clutching once a soft red so vibrant
beautiful rose her petals were bright
remembering the love with colors
from a kaleidoscope a rainbow seen

Now her heart is in another place
filling the air with a warm embrace
holding the dream of a colorful scene
remembering the love that had been.
