Front Porch~ by Mary Hudak-Collins

Brisk, summer morning
A gentle breeze touches my face
I rest my head back

Eyes closed
Listening, birds, chimes
People’s voices in the distance

Fresh aroma of jasmine
Permeates my very being
Absorbed deep into my soul

Eyes open
Dew remains across the lawn
Tree branches swaying to their own music

Few moments to myself
Appreciated to life’s fullest
Never to be taken for granted
