Path of a Ghost (Sestina) by Andrew Scott
Path Of A Ghost (Sestina)
With every single step take
am feeling a presence
the mystic aura all surrounding
it is taking me in
as I inch forward
on the same path of a ghost
How do I feel this ghost
on this road taken
when I cannot see forward
but see the shadow of it presence
I know the direction it is in
and see the white light surrounding
Engulfing and surrounding
not afraid of this ghost
though not sure of the care I am in
or what of me may be taken
in the ever-changing presence
that will carry me forward
Fear is with each step forward
to the unknown surrounding
unpredictable presence
of an overseeing ghost
where my soul maybe taken
to never get it back in
The lure can take me in
if I do not watch forward
never knowing what is taken
what part of me becomes the surrounding
and becomes the ghost
enhancing their own presence
Cannot fully fight the presence
or embrace it in
and feel the ghost
not to really move forward
to create a new surrounding
and get back what was taken
The spirit’s presence is pushing forward
lead in to its surrounding
live with what the ghost has taken
