Catch the Viber~
Over the last few months I have received many invitations from friends to download and install communications apps. These apps allow you to communicate via phone calls and text messaging totally free. Not until recently have I decided to test these services out and I have to tell you I have been disappointed until now.
So here is the skinny for all you Minnies out there who have friends, family or business associate overseas. It is called Viber and I have to say it work likes no bodies business.
The Hitches:
- It only works Viber to Viber, meaning in order to connect, talk and text with family and friends they have to have Viber installed on their cells or you will incur charges from your cell phone carrier.
- Devices that the app is supported on are limited to the following:
- iPhone Models 3GS and 4 with IOS 3.1.3, 4 and newer.
- iPod Touch and iPad (latest versions)
- Android and various devices, for a complete list from Viber of Android supported devices click here.
Now for the Pluses:
- No Registration
- No User Name and Passwords
- Viber uses your phone number to identify you and sends you an Access Code but make sure you are the owner of your cell phone
- Free Viber Phone Calls and Text
- Viber Imports your address book and tags other Viber users directly from your device
- Text and Call via Wi-Fi and 3G
- Viber is ad free
- And Here is the best part……
-
FREE INTERNATIONAL CALLING and TEXTING
(I like this part)
Just make sure your friends and family have Viber and make sure you check with your carrier to check your data plans and roaming rate just to make sure.
